No official minecraft account needed. You can use the Tlaunch launcher.

The site doesn't offer downloads any longer, you can get the launcher.jar from archive.org: launcher.jar. Run it with java -jar LegacyLauncher_Legacy.jar

The server is running version 1.21.1

From the main menu: Multiplayer > Add Server
